We traveled at Izumo shrine in Shimane pref north of Hiroshima. It took around 5hours from Nagoya by special train.
It is one of the most ancient and important Shinto shrine in Japan. It is located in Izumo city.
- Significance: Izumo Shrine is dedicated to Okuninushi no Mikoto, a deity associated with marriage, prosperity, and good fortune. It's believed to be a place where all the Shinto gods gather annually in the 10th month of lunar calendar.
- Annual Gathering: This gathering of deities is known as "Kamiarizuki". During this time, it's said that the gods leave other shrines and come to Izumo Shrine to discuss the affairs of the divine world.
- Historical Significance: The shrine has a rich history dating back over a thousand years. The first recorded mention of the shrine is in the ancient Japanese texts, the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki.
